I sat down to watch the 2019 animated "Playmobil: The Movie" with my son. I hadn't even heard about this movie prior to stumbling upon it. And since I grew up playing with Playmobil, and my son now does so as well, of course we sat down together to watch this movie.
The movie is a little bit slow to start, but once the main characters become changed into Playmobil things brighten up and the movie takes a turn for the better.
First I will say that the storyline was pretty good. Sure, this was a children's movie first and foremost, but it actually had enough contents to it so that I, as an adult, actually always enjoyed the movie.
The CGI was just spectacular, and it was such a blast to watch Playmobil brought to life on the screen in this manner. There is an abundance of details in many scenes, and you'll probably not even notice half of them. My son, for example, he didn't even notice the Ghostbusters vehicle on the express way. So there is a lot to take in, and I believe that fact alone actually makes this movie well worth watching a second time. The first time is for the storyline, whereas the second is to take in all the details.
There is a good feeling to the storyline, and the movie is definitely enjoyable. Not only because of the good CGI and the storyline, but also because of the characters. There was a good amount of nicely fleshed out characters throughout the course of the movie. And while this is an animated CGI movie, having a good and talented cast for the voice acting is a must. And they definitely had that for "Playmobil: The Movie.
It was nice to see Playmobil put in a chip on the animated movie market with this movie, and it was a much needed breath of fresh air from all the Lego movies. Not that there is anything wrong with Lego, not at all, but variety and a change of scenery makes a great change.
"Playmobil: The Movie" is well worth sitting down to watch, and I am rating it a six out of ten stars.

If there was ever a collaborative band - where they ALL contributed to the music and the lyrics - it would have been The Band. Levon was the only American in The Band. The Southern phrases and the phrasing - among other things - makes me believe all five members should have shared in the publishing that Robbie Robertson claimed for himself. I'm sorry - but that's what I believe. I had the opportunity to see them 3 times in a small club in, of all places, Chattanooga, TN. The first of the three was and still is one of the great musical experiences of my life. They were touring in support of the Jericho album released on Pyramid Records. Hope Gap made up for all that. It is beautifully acted (Annette Bening is extraordinary) deep and subtle, and does carry you away.

If too many cards were missing, I skipped over the list entirely. Pre-errata cards have been added when appropriate. If you have and ideas or criticism, feel free to comment / link summon them below. I must add that 2019 was somewhat busy for me, resulting in a very thin spread of deck lists. Link format as a whole might just be the least documented era in my list collection apart from 2006. He worked on some ford sprint cars and built fordillacs and a lincollac. HE said Briggs made 33,000 a day back then just off of what he had inherited  from the swift meat packing fortune. • Great to see a film about dancing! A relatively unexplored sub-genre of documentary, and Cunningham was welcome for this alone. It adds to a hole that I suppose Wenders' Pina opened.

 

• On that note, this film should not have been shot in 3d, which added nothing but nausia. We expect the 3d was entirely for the purpose of (a) copying Pina and, relatedly, b) getting funding. But Cunningham's dances are far less spectacular and their presentation here likewise. The 3d only distracts from the movement in all but one Warhol-involved set, especially when edited with 2d archival.

 

• First half entertaining, second boring. The film progresses at a monotonous pace: one thing happens and then another and then another. No real conflict or tension.

Which is a problem. Because there evidently was plenty of this, but only in reality. The movie, on the other hand, brushes past unconvincingly. No one in the film is given space apart from Cunningham - everyone else speaks to convince the audience how great he is. I wanted to hear from one of his female dancers honestly, in long form, of the darkness of Cunningham. This would help to flesh out his character, give us something to chew on, and organise the film into a narrative. As is, we grew progressively distrusting and disengaged with the Greatest Hits/ Victory Lap tone, before the film ends suddenly with the news that all his dancers left.

• Ultimately we were left unconvinced that Cunningham (the dancer) was all that interesting. Fashionable certainly, he's attached to the right people, and I'm sure it would be great to be dancing as him, but the just-over-half-full prime-time-at-the-festival cinema was an endless circuit of yawns.

 

• Nevertheless we feel cultured now.

And you (maybe) all know how much I love my coming of age stories. Pete Davidson and Griffin Gluck both really shine in this. I knew people like Pete's character growing up, and I was Griffin. It was only years later that I realized that people in their early 20s shouldn't want high school aged friends to make them feel cooler. It's funny, it's charming, it's heartbreaking, and definitely something I recommend catching. Ultimately Big Time Adolescence ends up feeling like a darker Superbad and a better Mid90s. Went in blind, not familiar with much of the cast, rarely watching many newer films but was pleasently surprised. A solid acting job all around with relatable chatectors. Full of action and suspense. Really thaught the ambiguous ending worked for this film and would like to see it used more often. Thaught the story was strong with the exception of one loophole, no spoilers but if you have seen think you'll know what I'm getting at! Not a favorite but a plesent way to spend a few hours.

So soll er die Moderatorin Gretchen Carlson sexuell belästigt haben, die 2016, inzwischen entlassen, gegen Ailes Klage einreichte. Doch das hält Kelly nicht davon ab, sich im Präsidentschafts-Wahlkampf mit Donald Trump anzulegen – sehr zum Unmut von Senderchef Roger Ailes (John Lithgow), einem engen Verbündeten von Trump. Obwohl der eine üble, frauenfeindliche Twitterkampagne gegen die Moderatorin startet, stellt sich der Sender nicht hinter sie. Zur gleichen Zeit wird der Vertrag von Kellys Kollegin Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman) nicht verlängert, als diese sich weigert, länger dem Klischee der "TV-Barbie" zu entsprechen. Und auch die junge Redakteurin Kayla Pospisil (Margot Robbie) bekommt die unangenehmen Seiten der Chefetage des Senders zu spüren – auch wenn das für sie den beruflichen Aufstieg bedeutet. Als sich Gretchen Carlson öffentlich mit Ailes anlegt und den Senderchef wegen sexueller Belästigung verklagt, bekommt sie jede Menge Gegenwind. Doch warum schweigen Kelly und Pospisil – und wie lange noch? Basierend auf wahren Ereignissen wirft "Bombshell - Das Ende des Schweigens" einen entlarvenden Blick hinter die Kulissen des konservativen Senders Fox News, dem Sprachrohr von US-Präsident Trump. Regisseur Jay Roach versucht die Ereignisse mit einem Hauch bissiger Satire aufzurollen, wobei ihm offensichtlich die Filme "Vice" und "The Big Short" von Adam McKay als Vorbild dienen. Allerdings gelingt ihm der Spagat zwischen Enthüllungs-Drama und Satire nicht ganz so gut, wie das bei McKay der Fall war. Angesichts der Verlogenheit, die diese Geschichte offenbart und der manipulativen Berichterstattung, mit der dieser Sender zur Spaltung des Landes beiträgt, wäre etwas mehr Biss und Boshaftigkeit durchaus wünschenswert gewesen. Schauspielerisch gibt es an dem Film allerdings nichts auszusetzen. Die drei Hauptdarstellerinnen sind einfach großartig und auch John Lithgow – unter seiner Maske kaum wiederzuerkennen – liefert eine hervorragende Leistung ab. Auch in Sachen Make Up-Effekte und Ausstattung sind erstklassig, was gerade durch das Einspielen von Originalaufnahmen verdeutlicht wird. Trotzdem bleibt am Ende der Eindruck, dass wesentlich mehr aus dem Stoff herausgeholt hätte werden können. Gerade im Vergleich zu der Mini-Serie "The loudest Voice", in der Russel Crowe als Roger Ailes beeindruckt hat. Diese siebenteilige Serie macht deutlich, wie viel Potential noch in der Geschichte gesteckt hätte. Trotzdem: "Bombshell - Das Ende des Schweigens" ist trotz seiner Schwächen ein guter, unterhaltsamer und wichtiger Film, der sich alleine schon durch die tollen Darstellerinnen lohnt. Ein Film, der einen nachdenklich und wütend macht, aber durchaus auch zahlreiche auflockernde, humorvolle Momente zu bieten hat, ohne die Aussage der Geschichte dadurch zu verwässern. Charlize Theron's portrayal was spot on, her voice sounded exactly like Megyn Kelly. Aside from that, all the performances were amazing! Margot Robbie was also phenomenal, the scene with her talking outside a restaurant totally made me feel for her character.

About the perception of these cases and the toxic environment that can flourish in power dynamics
Got victims stories out there are hopefully respected the bravery of these woman for coming forward witht eh chance to lose jobs
Never a dull moment
Some terrible people using their power and some people are ok with it as it helped promote them through sexual acts
Charlize as Kelly is great and the makeup is incredible, only problem is it's hard to root for somebody with such terrible opinions
Kidman as Carlson on the other hand is easy to root for as we see her advocating for good things on the air and gets fired for it also a good performance
Robbie as Kayla is a culmination of characters and what she goes through with Roger is terrible, see how people can rise through the ranks by agreeing to do these sexual acts
Lithgow is also great as Ailes and appreciate seeing this disgusting power hungry man taken down by these brave woman who were harassed and assaulted by him
Very good film that is a must watch
