Malang - Unleash the Madness Watch stream.nbcolympics. Best song for 2020 for me. Malang - Director Mohit Suri reprises "Ek Villain" a bit too soon, i.e., during the second half you'll be made to virtually relive a fairly long session of Ek Villain giving a sense of deja vu. But Malang has fantastic production values, is mounted on a grand scale, and has a few twists and turns that keeps the interest intact until the end.
Malang is a kill fest swinging between two Christmas eves, 5 years apart. Advait Thakur (Aditya Roy Kapoor) emerges from the jail after a 5 year rigorous imprisonment, having transformed into a murder machine. He announces his intention to Anjaney Agashe (Anil Kapoor, a crime branch cop) who has the reputation for encounter killings himself. Apparently unrelated, four policemen are murdered and then Advait surrenders. But the Goa police isn't going to take this lying low - revenge must be in order.
Malang could have been a gripping thriller if only the bond between the lead actors (Aditya Roy Kapoor and Disha Patani) were more cogent. The romance is no strings attached initially and aborts suddenly as Advait develops cold feet. His return to sanity is unimpressive and unconvincing. The crime committed 5 years back, which is the crux of the story also stands on feeble grounds. The story in spite of the suspense and the novel climax fails to inspire any association with the characters or sympathy as they aren't defined in depth. The music by Prashant Pillai is outstanding and cinematography by Vikas Sivaraman is commendable. An average revenge drama.
